  • "Almost heaven, West Virginia,

    Blue Ridge Mountains
    Shenandoah River.
    Life is old there,
    Older than the trees,
    Younger than the mountains
    Growin' like a breeze.

    Country roads, take me home
To the place where I belong:
    West Virginia, mountain momma,
    Take me home, country roads.

All my memories gathered 'round her,
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water.
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky,
    Misty taste of moonshine,
    Teardrop in my eye.

I hear her voice, in the mornin' hour she calls me,
Radio reminds me of my home far away
And driving down the road I get a feeling
I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

    Country roads, take me home
To the place where I belong:
    West Virginia, mountain momma,
    Take me home, country roads
    .
    "

That was a nice prelude.. dolly parton has such a crisp, sweet voice...

in midst of all the schoolwork i've been piled with, i've realized that I haven't spent any time updating my life in Xanga.  so!  to get reacquainted.

it's now the 3rd week of senior year, and, as expected, my social life has been sucked out of my hands. again.  i've started writing my college essays (thank god for common apps), but i still have to hand in my school report forms to my guidance counselors/teachers to fill out.

ap bio is quite intense.. spent the entire afternoon working on the lab packet today.  thankfully my lab partner was great at pushing me out of from my lethargy.  lessee.. ap psych is probably the most engaging class.. mrs hodgins can really pull you into the subject matter..

tomorrow girls' tennis is going for their first [jersey] shore conference in 11 years (!).  the drive to the competition takes an hour, so we'll get to leave early - at 12:30.  in other words, i get to miss honors english and ap bio.  yess.  on the bad side, i also have this really bad cold.  besides waking up with a dry throat and a lethargy that prevents me from doing any work, i sound like a frog that's been baking out in the sun for too long.  but it'll go away.  just like the college app process.  you just gotta grin and bear it for a little while.

  • North v. South
    6-2, 6-2

Booyah.  First match, first win of the season.
our team has definitely gotten stronger since last year, mostly because of the freshmen.  but they're really good.  i'm really liking the team.
    also..
my butt has been really sore these past few days.  it's kinda hard to sit down too .  i guess i'm tearing butt muscle?

notice how my posts have been becoming more and more random

  • yayayay!

after a year of waiting, my painting finally came back from the competition.  it looks.. wow so much better in person than viewing it online.  the detail is very fine, and the colors really come out after mounting the painting.  ah i like it so much.  alsoo i think i might use that name stamp i bought from china too to stamp it.  it'll be a nice ornament.  http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55/FungMing/8.jpg  (sorry the picture is so small.. photobucket minimized it so unfortunately you can't see the detail)

this thursday we'll be cruising to the caribbeans!  hopefully i'll be able to finish all my work till then.. i definitely don't want to study on board.  we'll be going with 13 other families.. so much for an "escape," right?  then challenge matches in tennis when we get back.  blargh.  but neway, went shopping with my mommy today and bought two really cute shirts, as well as a pair of formal pants for the captain's dinner(/college interview).. i think i'll wear it to the cruise.  yep =)
